The Third Annual Freezin' for a Reason Polar Plunge 2025: Hosted by Mental Makeover

Join us for a thrilling day of courage and community at the 3rd Annual Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge, taking place on January 11, 2025, at Salem’s Winter Island Park boat ramp! This exhilarating event invites brave participants to take a plunge into the icy waters of winter and connect with their mind and bodies. 

How to Participate :

• Registration/Check-In: Opens at 8:45 AM
• Polar Plunge: Kicks off at 10:00 AM
• Registration Fee: $30

The first 100 registrants will receive an exclusive Mental Makeover Polar Plunge Beanie To register, click the “Donate Now” button to pay your registration fee and sign your safety waiver.

You can also create a fundraising page to rally support from friends and family for your icy adventure. Raise $500 or more to earn a cozy Mental Makeover Robe! The top three fundraisers will receive a Grand Prize. Click the “Start a Fundraiser” button and follow the instructions.

• Plunge into Purpose: Take a daring dip into the frigid waters and feel the rush of adrenaline while making a meaningful impact. Facing the freezing water can be uncomfortable, like mental health discussions can be. However with courage and support, we can face these struggles and get comfortable in the uncomfortable. Each participant will have the chance to raise funds to support mental health initiatives in our community.
• Team Spirit: Gather your friends, family, or coworkers to form a team and take on the plunge together! Dress up in fun costumes or matching outfits to showcase your team spirit and creativity.
• Community Connection: Enjoy a day filled with camaraderie and support from fellow plungers and spectators. Remind yourself that you aren’t alone in your journey. Connect with local mental health advocates, learn about available resources, and be part of a movement that champions mental well-being.
• Post-Plunge Celebration: Warm up after your plunge with hot cocoa, snacks, and lively music! Share your plunge stories, celebrate your bravery, and mingle with others who have braved the cold waters alongside you.

All proceeds from the event will support Mental Makeover, a mental health 501(c) 3 non-profit organization committed to fighting the stigma surrounding mental health and empowering young people in our communities to learn about mental health and talk openly about their own thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
