Facts & Figures. An introduction to Salem PD’s a unique approach to substance abuse disorder works. Narcan emergency response to detox, Follow Up Post Detox Door Knock Program, as well as an introduction to the urgent need for comprehensive follow up treatment in Greater Salem, with help from Salem PD and aligned health agencies, like Healthy Streets, North Shore Medical Center and Salem Health Clinic.
Presenter: Kimberly Leventhal, M.D., Medical Director, Substance Use Disorder Services at North Shore Medical Center
SUD treatment models and the importance of destigmatization in bending the curve of addiction.
Presenter: Dr. Michael Medlock, Mass Medical Society
Dr Medlock is going to talk about the Mass Medical Association Opioid Response, including some of its’ recent innovative suggestions regarding harm reduction, including Emergency black boxes in the community and supervised sites for users!
Presenter: Matt Veno, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
Matt Veno will discuss what an employer can do to recognize SUD in an employee, to help the employee get treatment, to help the employee utilize employer benefits, (including the Employee Assistance Program and/or the employer sponsored health insurance) to get effective treatment, inpatient/outpatient, and how the employer can get the employee back to work, while in recovery, by way of an innovative recovery return to work contract.
