Beaches 101: Adopt a Beach Training
Salem Sound Coastwatch is holding an Adopt a Beach Training on, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 7:00pm to 8:30 pm at 12 Federal Street, Salem, MA. Become a beachkeeper! Adopt your favorite beach! Beachkeepers are the "eyes and ears" of our local beaches, monitoring, cleaning up, and reporting on conditions at their adopted beach on a year-round basis. There is no set time commitment--volunteers choose their favorite beach and their own hours. "Beaches 101," is about the science of beaches. Join us to learn about beach ecology, sources of pollution, marine debris, how to identify storm damage, invasive species and more.If you love a beach in Lynn, Nahant, Swampscott, Marblehead, Salem, Danvers, Beverly and Manchester- By-the-Sea, protect your favorite beach. The training is open to anyone interested in learning about beaches. Volunteering is not a requirement. RSVP requested.
