    Position: Delivery Program Coordinator

    Report to: Mike Lilley, Director of Programs and Partnerships

    Pay Rate: 40-hour-a-week, full-time, Monday-Friday, evenings and weekends as required

    Location: 220 Highland Avenue, Salem MA

    Pay Rate: $23 – $26 per hour

    The Salem Pantry (TSP), a leading food access organization on the North Shore, is seeking a Delivery Program Coordinator to administer TSP’s direct-to-home distribution programming. This position focuses on managing registration, coordinating grocery deliveries, maintaining accurate data and reporting, and driving a company van or box truck to deliver food to recipients’ homes. The Delivery Program Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that home delivery and medically tailored food programs operate smoothly and reliably, supporting both recipient needs and broader Market and Mobile Pantry operations with efficiency, care, and dignity.

    Responsibilities:
    Delivery Program Operations
    • Drive the company van or truck to deliver groceries to clients.
    • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and supervise home delivery volunteers, fostering a strong and reliable volunteer team.
    • Oversee volunteers assisting in packing and delivery operations.

    Delivery Program Coordination
    • Administer a portion of the customer relations software.
    • Maintain client spreadsheets and complete weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting, and inventories for our home delivery programs.
    • Communicate with clients in person and over the phone to set up a delivery schedule, manage requests, and facilitate the resolution of complaints.
    • Implement a “ choice” model for home deliveries in coordination with the Director of Programs and Partnerships

    Program Operation Support
    • Assist with Market and Mobile Pantry operations.
    Organizational Engagement
    • Attend regular all-team meetings and actively contribute to program planning and review discussions
    • Collaborate with staff across departments to support organizational goals and initiatives
    • Assist with additional tasks or organizational needs when requested

    Work Environment
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, and use tools or controls. The employee must be able to lift 40+ pounds and operate equipment such as pallet jacks, etc. (training provided)

    The employee will work in warehouse, retail, and outdoor environments with exposure to conditions such as heat, cold, and dust.

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge and Previous Experience
    • Prior experience with grocery or food distribution operations preferred.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
    • 1–3 years of management or supervisory experience, preferably in nonprofit, food access, or community-based settings.
    • Must be over 26 years old and have a clean driving record with 6 years of driving experience. Background checks will be conducted upon hire and future driving records may be checked as required. (Not a CDL Position)
    • Proficiency with technology, including inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities, track projects, and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, operate pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (training provided)
