Triple header Comedy Night at Cinema Salem brought to you by the Salem Chamber, Cinema Salem and Creative Salem
Comedy Night March 24, with Networking from 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm.
Three of the region's top comics descend on Salem to share their inspired and hilarious perspectives on life as we know it. This event will support the great work of the Salem Chamber of Commerce.
Paul Nardizzi began his comedy career in 1990, quickly becoming a Boston area favorite and a national headliner within four years. He has made numerous appearances on Conan O'Brien, Comedy Central, won the Boston Comedy Festival Competition and is one of the most requested acts on XM Satellite Radio. He is now one of the top stand up comedians in Boston and the New England Area, and is known nationally for his rapid-fire comedy style.
Christine Hurley is truly one-of-a-kind. Comedy legend Lenny Clarke explains: “I’ve been doing this for 37 years, and I can honestly say that I haven’t seen someone as good as her since Roseanne [Barr], when she started doing stand-up. The first time I saw her I said, ‘My God, we have something special here.’ ” The 49-year-old Hurley came to comedy late in life. The petite blonde was encouraged by her husband to bring her wise-cracking commentary on anything and everything to an audience beyond her family and friends. Although much of Hurley’s language is not suitable for publication, and many of her jokes push the envelope — about parents and their over-involvement in youth sports, moms who get fixed up to bring their children to the bus stop, and heaven help the motorist with the stick-figure-family decal on the back windshield — she has a way of delivering this hilarious and on-target material in a good-natured manner without being offensive.
Dave Rattigan is one of the busiest comics in Boston. He's headlined some of the best clubs and theaters in New England, opened for The Beach Boys and Nick DiPaolo, and created the themed standup comedy show How Men Think (Or Do They?). He's appeared in regional television commercials for I-Party and Olympia Sports, and written funny columns for the Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor and others. His CD has been played on XM-Sirius, Slacker Radio.com, Matty's Comedy 1200, and AOLRadio.com. His video clips have run on Nickmom.com. He's a regular at the Boston Comedy Festival and this year appeared at the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival and the Women in Comedy Festival, -- but he's still a male.
Audience members will have the opportunity to purchase beer and wine in the CinemaSalem lobby, which is bound to make the jokes seem even funnier. Come & enjoy Comedy Night at CinemaSalem!Date and Time
