            • Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center Training in Domestic Violence: Applying for 3 CEs

While every therapist works with clients in varying degrees of relational crisis, encountering domestic violence can leave providers feeling frozen, powerless, and unsure about how to keep their clients safe. At Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center, we assess our survivors' physical, emotional, and psychological safety so we can empower them to move toward greater health. If you want to feel more confident identifying intimate partner violence in its many forms, consider joining us for three hours of essential, interactive learning.

              The training will cover:

              • characteristics of abusive relationships
              • dynamics of power and control
              • populations & identities at greater risk for victimization
              • risk assessment
              • “Why do they Stay” interactive activity
              • impact on and considerations for children
              • tips for supporting survivors
              • scope of services at JGCC and how to access

              About JGCC:

Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center is  a nationally-recognized domestic violence crisis center with offices in Lawrence and Amesbury. Our mission is to empower individuals and engage communities to end domestic violence. We provide empathetic and trauma-informed services using a strengths-based, survivor-led approach.

              The trainers:

Eli Adler-Roth, LICSW, coordinates the Children’s Safety Program at Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center. Eli earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Texas in 2016. He joined JGCC in 2019 after several years doing residential clinical trauma work. Prior to that, Eli worked with people who use violence and DYS-involved youth. In his role at JGCC, Eli oversees a team of clinicians providing individual, family, and group therapy to child and adult survivors. He is passionate about using therapy and systems-level advocacy to combat the myriad root causes of domestic violence, including trauma, toxic masculinity, and systemic oppression.

Hannah Lynn Mell, LCSW, is a clinician in the JGCC Children's Safety Program. Hannah earned her MSW from Salem State University in 2022. She spent 20 years teaching music and theater, and she integrates those modalities as well as her yoga teacher training into work with clients. Hannah started at JGCC as an intern in 2021, and she felt immediately at home working with survivors as a part of JGCC's supportive, dynamic team.

A portion of the registration fee will go to the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center as a donation.
