Emmerton House Sign Dedication

The Woman’s Friend Society has been a positive and often pioneering force in the charitable life of Salem, Massachusetts, since the Society’s founding in 1876. Through Emmerton House, the Society continues to contribute actively to the Salem community.  To this day, it houses single women who are employed and/or students for a period of five years, at an affordable weekly rent. With the burden of high rent removed, the women at Emmerton House are empowered to move past their difficult situation to discover who they are, what they want out of life, and crafting the plan to achieve it.

Today marks the beginning of a new awareness of the Society's work and impact in the form of an interpretive sign in from of the Emmerton House.  Join us as we dedicate and celebrate this milestone!
