Caryl Churchill's Mad Forest explores the personal and societal chaos of the 1989 Romanian Revolution that overthrew dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. The story follows two families before, during, and after the upheaval. Through a series of fragmented, often surreal scenes the play portrays the damage done to people's lives by repression and the difficult path toward lasting change, highlighting the complexity of political transformation and human resilience. Friday December 5 is Salem Night. Salem residents receive free admission. Present ID at the box office. No advance reservation required. For mature audiences.
