An exceptional offering of John Stobart oil paintings of port scenes and Vincent Crotty's collection of Boston-area and international landscapes. Both John and Vincent are influenced by painting from life. John has been a supporter of Vincent and his painting since they met in the mid-nineties. The two paint outdoors together, when time allows, and they enjoy a great friendship. Vincent's plein air approach creates a feeling of spontaneity and ease in his work. With a style that is loose and fresh, cheerful and evocative, he expresses a highly individual vision in contemporary representational painting. John Stobart serves as our historian and guide to life along the water, focusing on sailing ships of yesteryear, paddle steamers, sailboats and tugs.
