This special program features four distinguished musicians from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, joined by acclaimed violinist Keila Wakao, a favorite of SBS audiences. Together, these guest artists perform alongside Symphony by the Sea’s own outstanding musicians, underscoring the orchestra’s ability to attract and collaborate with world-class talent. The guest soloists include: Keila Wakao, violin — an internationally acclaimed soloist praised for her expressive artistry and musical poise, and a beloved favorite of Symphony by the Sea audiences Keisuke Wakao, oboe — Assistant Principal Oboe of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Christopher Elchico, clarinet — clarinetist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra Josh Baker, bassoon — Associate Principal Bassoonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Michael Winter, French horn — French hornist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra At the heart of the program is Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, a brilliant showcase of solo winds in dynamic conversation with the orchestra. The concert also features Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, performed by Keila Wakao, and the composer’s youthful Symphony No. 4 in D major.
