DESCRIPTION:Join us for 14th Annual Swim & Fin   Race for Salem Sound\, sponsored by Salem Sound Coastwatch.\n\n\n\n500 meter\, 1 Mile and 5K open water races for strong swimmers of all ages!\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE: http://bit.ly/2ZZzgno\n\n\n\nSunday\, August 11\, 2019\n\nat Forest River Park\,\n\n98 West Ave.\, Salem\, MA.\n\nLocated at the beach near the pool. Check-in at the registration table begins at 6:30 am. Races start at 8:00 am. There is no rain date.\n\n\n\nMust register by Sunday\, July 18th to get an event tee!\n\n\n\nBring the Family! We'll have music\, raffles\, a marine touch tank and more! Park admission is free on the day of the race. Families can picnic and enjoy the playground\, walking paths and beautiful views from Forest River Park.\n\n\n\nEntry Fees and Pre-registration\n\nAdults $40\; $50 Race Day\n\nYouth 17 & under  $30\; $40 Race Day\n\n\n\nPre-registration closes Friday\, August 9\, noon EDT. The race field is capped at 250 swimmers.\n\n\n\n\n\nRace Day Registration and Check-in\n\nRegistration and check-in will be open from 6:30-7:30am. Swimmers must have completed check-in and body marking prior to the mandatory 7:45 am safety meeting.\n\n\n\n\n\nWetsuits are allowed for each race and will be judged in a separate class.\n\n\n\n\n\nSafety is our highest priority. Brightly colored swim caps will be PROVIDED AND ARE REQUIRED. Swimmer numbers will be written on the swimmers' caps and shoulders\, or hands if wearing a wetsuit. Swimmers may not wear or have personal flotation devices. Safety kayaks and rescue boats will be on the course for emergencies.\n\n\n\nMean water temperature at this time of year is 68 degrees.\n\n\n\nNo rain date. The swim will be cancelled only if necessary for the safety of the swimmers. In case of cancellation\, your registration fee will become a tax deductible donation to Salem Sound Coastwatch.\n\n\n\n\n\nSalem Sound Coastwatch is a nonprofit environmental organization that has been working to make our coastal waters clean and safe for over 25 years.
