DESCRIPTION:Salem Maritime National Historic Site will be hosting a marathon read of The House of the Seven Gables! Starting at 7:00 am on Sunday\, July 7\, and running until probably 7:00 pm (That's a lot of 7s!)\, we will read The House of the Seven Gables from beginning to end with the help of many\, many volunteers. Join us from the beginning or stop by to listen as the novel progresses.\n\n\n\nThe Gables have an incredible selection of events and activities planned throughout the day to keep the momentum going.\n\n\n\nGarden passes and the marathon reading event will be free in honor of Nathaniel Hawthorne's birthday weekend. We ask everyone interested in helping to read to please email gavin_gardner@nps.gov. He will be pulling together the volunteer list and reading schedule. Let us know if you want to volunteer for a five-minute reading slot. It is only with your help that we will keep this from becoming "pure and uncontrollable mischief.
