SUMMARY:After Hours Networking at East Regiment Beer Company
DESCRIPTION:Join the Salem Chamber of Commerce for a night of networking at the newly opened East Regiment Brewing. Registration is required. Free for members / $20 for non-members. To register either click the link or email info@salem-chamber.org. \n\n \nWhat's the story behind East Regiment? Scott and Josh were friends before starting East Regiment. Both had jobs where mission planning was required but so was the ability to adapt when the plans didn't work out. And when you build your own brewery\, there's a lot of stuff that won't work out at first.\n\n \n\nScott is Navy Veteran while Josh spent time as a Merchant Marine. Their careers were fulfilling but both had a desire to stop traveling and create something. Preferably something liquid and delicious that could help other people plan missions of their own.\n\n \n\nSo\, Scott and Josh headed back to Salem and with nothing but grit\, determination\, and a pile of money in the form of a bank loan\, these mechanically inclined gents MacGyvered a brewery. People asked why it took so long to open that's why! Scott and Josh built everything by hand from the bar and tables to the wort boiler. Some stuff worked\, some stuff failed miserably and sent them back to the drawing board.\n\n \n\nThe process took about 5 years of planning and brewing\, throwing out questionable beer batches and giving away good batches for feedback\, saving money\, and wasting money.\n\n \n\nThey decided to use the East Regiment to represent the brewery because let's face it\, the first colonial militia is a pretty badass mascot. And\, in some ways\, like the brewery\, it was cobbled together with know-how\, colonial determination (and definitely a bank loan). It nods to New England and its pioneering beginnings\; even the flag is legit.
